A splash, a scream, the world is cold
I learn too slow, my mother's told
At last, a chance to make my way
My wife, she knows just what to say
My body, it begins to slow
Why did I scorn my parents so?
Have you seen my grandkids? They're so cute!
The doctor here is such a brute!
No one listens to my wisdom
Why did it have to end this way?
The teacher is like a guide in the wilderness. He tells people where to find the oasis, but doesn't go there himself because he must help the next traveler find it, too.
It turns out that Twitter is the end-result of the Protestant movement. The protestant movement retains the prostelyzation and adds a dose of rebellion. Thus, you have millions telling everyone else something that they MUST HEAR while simultaneously saying, "I don't have to listen to you!"
...and that's Twitter in a nutshell. Millions of status updates about things no one wants to hear about that no one reads.
I always imagined that Tolkien's wizards knew where they would die, but not when. Men knew when they would die, after a fashion, but not where (we know we've got less than 100 years, anyway). Wizards had the opposite. This is why Gandalf wanted to avoid Moria if at all possible.
The problem with knowing where you will die is that you will avoid going there until such time you were forced to go, at which point the dread of the inevitable would be maddening. Saruman saw that, and sought to make his place of death his home, where he would spend all his days. This way, he would die at home.
Saruman was indeed the wisest of the wizards, bef

My cat Smokey is apparently obsessed with putting Q-Tips in my shoes. I can't decide if this is passive-aggressive or just another of his eccentricities.
There seems to be some confusion about my previous journal entry. I only meant that my JOURNAL is ending. I will continue to post art. That is all.
